Catoctin Shiloh Shepherds is nestled in the scenic Catoctin Mountains of Thurmont, Maryland. We are located at the foot of the same mountain of the presidential retreat, Camp David.
Thurmont is located 12 miles north of Frederick, and approximately 10 miles south of the famous Gettysburg, PA.

I live with my husband, three lovely teenage children and four amazing dogs. Three of these dogs are Shiloh Shepherds and one is a stubborn, yet comical, Chinese Pug. All of them are household family members, socialized to love people and desire interaction with young children.

I have actively studied all breeds of dogs from the time that I was a young teenager. My specialty and love was assisting in the raising and training of my fathers German Shepherds. They were the big, brawny Shepherds we remember of long ago, with the intuitive intelligence of the Rin Tin Tin type shepherds.
In 1996, I discovered a foundational rare breed dog reminiscent of those shepherds of old, the Shiloh Shepherd. I have been on a journey, ever since, participating with the foundational stock program. My interest in the study of genetics, healthy diets, canine language and behavior come together so that every breeding I put together creates the type of dog I remember as a child; passing that incredible companion on to you

We have traveled extensively in various venues with these great giants. I have introduced the breed to a classroom full of middle school children during the schools “Careers Day”. I have taken them into nursing homes and on hospitals visits to help place smiles on the faces of the lonely and aid in making a hospital stay a little more tolerable. These gentle dogs have helped regain the “trust of a dog” into the frightened hearts of people that are recovering from bad experiences with other dogs and have assisted with the autistic to bring a glimmer of awareness to an otherwise hidden mind.

We love our dogs and enjoy sharing them with everyone. Placing them into the homes of families that share our attitude about these exceptional animals is our joy. Our home is always open to visits, as we love to educate the public into greater awareness of this foundational treasure. Bringing to your home, the best "all around dog" possible for you and your family has been, and continues to be, our goal!

Come see and experience, for yourself, what it is like to be owned by a Shiloh.
